• Jean’s Lemon Whippersnappers

    When my oldest daughter, Katie, was in preschool, many moons ago, I used to take her to a Mom’s Morning Out gymnastics program. While there, we met Jean and her daughter, Laura, and became fast friends. We got together from time to time outside of gymnastics and one Christmas, Jean hosted a cookie exchange. I don’t remember what I brought, but I do remember Jean’s Lemon Whippersnappers and they quickly became a family favorite at Christmas time. Some people call these cookies Crinkle Cookies, but I love the Whippersnapper name, which I am assuming comes from the fact that Cool Whip is a main ingredient.   • Simple Cookies with a Complicated Name

    My new KitchenAid mixer arrived this week, just in time to start whipping up some Christmas goodies. It arrived in the middle of a busy weekend, so it just sat there, looking pretty, waiting to be used. Finally, Tuesday rolled around and I decided it was time to put this beauty to good use. But what to make first?? I decided on cream cheese jam cookies called Kolaczki, or what some call Kolacky Cookies. The dough is a simple mix of butter, lots of butter, and cream cheese and flour.
