    As I talk to more people about food, I have discovered that cuisine, like clothing, tends to go in fads. Pork chops and Rice-A-Roni, Chicken A La King, and Salisbury Steak are dishes synonymous with the 80’s and my childhood. Of course, some of these fads vary by region, but many followed popular cooking crazes that swept the masses. Our kids will tell their kids about the kale salads, turkey burgers and slow cooker meals their moms had in their meal prep rotation.   • Comfort Food for Cold Nights

    Fall weather seemed to come seemingly overnight for us.  One day, it was 80º, the next it was 60º, with temps in the 40s at night.  Brrr!  We have pulled out the sweaters and slippers and I am beginning to cook our favorite comfort foods. One of my favorite ways to cook our favorite comfort foods is with my trusty slow cooker.  I love to dump all of the ingredients in and go about my business while dinner cooks.  It fills the house with the tantalizing aroma of whatever is cooking, making our stomachs growl.
